Description
Barley is an old grain dating back to the ancient Egyptians, who used it in their agricultural settlements. High in fiber, vitamins, and minerals it also has beta glucans which may improve cholesterol and stimulate the immune system. This grain can be ground fresh to use as an all-purpose flour. Or perhaps beef and barley soup is on the menu. In that case, let it soak for a few hours then cook till its soft and has doubled. Add it to soups, whole grain breads or gourmet salads. The choice is yours.
